Custom range boxes are for your clients to manually enter prices:

If it’s hidden, nothing will appear. However, if ‘Show custom range boxes’ is selected, the widget menu will expand to give a few more options:

• Range Step/Increment: There are up/down arrows in the custom range boxes, this sets how big the increments are.
• Min/Max/Apply Button Texts: Customise the texts that display in the filter.
