Optimising Images

Hi Dave
Do I still need to optimise images when using this plugin. I tried optimising via EWWW and it found no images and sent my CPU usage (which is limited) through the roof.

Greetings, apologies for the delayed answer. Indeed, as Bobette says, we recommend using the External Images plugin for such situations. It is receiving continuous updates and support as well as an array of new features which are being worked on at the moment. Christine, I know Dave can answer better, but he has commented that EWWW is a huge drain on resources. When I asked what he recommends he pointed me to the External Images plug in. Given that, I believe we don’t have to be concerned about optimising images. BTW, I had an issue with EWWW too. When I first installed it it made the entire shared server unstable. I’ve since deleted the plug-in.
